I bought Big Brother, Little Brother by Penny Dale when my kids were about 4 and 2. I loved the picture on the front cover that looked a lot like a photo I have of my boys when they were about 3 and 1.
This is the story of two brothers and the bond they have. The illustrations are lifelike and complement the story well. I especially like the mischief the little brother gets up to. I don’t want to give away too much of the story, so you’ll have to read it for yourself.
When Mr N was in Prep, my boys dressed up at the characters from this story for the Book Week parade, complete with clothes that were similar to the picture and with a red truck! It was a book that they read often and I’ve loved rediscovering. My sister has two boys, I’ll need to keep my eyes out for another copy of this book to give to my nephews…
