Uno’s Garden by Graeme Base is a book I had heard of, but never read. It is another of the collection from the newspaper.
Before I talk about the story, I have to say the illustrations are stunning, there is so much to see on each page. Kids could spend ages looking at them to see everything that’s in there – I know I did.
The story is interesting too. There is a strong message about sustainability and balance in the environment without being judgmental, which is something I enjoyed. The book also helps with counting and multiplication on each page as kids count the numbers of animals and plants and houses.
If you are looking for a great story with an environmental message, this is a wonderful book to read.
