Today’s book is the ultimate picture book for boys – The Fly by Gusti. This is the story about a perfect day turning into a nightmare for a fly. It was originally published in Mexico and has been translated into English.
I won’t give away the punch line, but trust me, it’s one that little boys will love. My boys were giggling for ages after we finished reading it, and we have given it as gifts to a number of their friends, who also loved it.
The pictures in this book look like they’ve been cut out and stuck on the page (my mind has gone blank for this style of artwork), and are simple. They show the story very well and give away the punch line without it being spelled out in the text.
If you have boys, hunt down this book as it’s definitely a book for them, though I know a few girls who have enjoyed it as well.
