This is a wonderful book, and another one that I dusted off. The Richest Crocodile in the World by Daniel Postgate is the tale of a crocodile who had a mansion, helicopter, car, and everything else that made him rich, but there was still something missing, so he goes off to find what that is.
It has a wonderful message in it, that to be rich, it’s not just the big house, fast car or having a giraffe butler. I don’t want to give too much away, so you’ll have to read the book.
The illustrations are fun and bright and full of animals. My now eight year old loves animals, which is why we picked up this book in the first place. He especially enjoyed the crocodile in his red fez.
This is a fun book that was a fast favourite of my kids, and a great book to rediscover as part of this challenge.
